Pelham Panthers Announce a Team Ambassador

Good evening Panthers fans!

My name is Rhys Evans and I am a lifelong Pelham resident.

Growing up, I attended A.K. Wigg and E.L. Crossley Secondary School. After high school, I moved on to Niagara College where I studied Recreation and Leisure Services, Recreational Therapy and Social Service Worker.

In my current role working at the Meridian Community Centre, I am the greeter and general information person assisting people who use the facilities and answering questions about current programs. It is an absolute privilege and an honour to be in this position serving my home community.

This past off-season, I was approached and asked by the Pelham Panthers Junior Hockey Team if I would be interested in becoming the Team Ambassador.

This is an opportunity that I was really excited about because it combines my love of sports with the love I have for my community.

This organization’s values align with my own perfectly and this is why it is such a great fit for me. The Pelham Panthers Hockey Club is a junior team focused on playerdevelopment and bringing a competitive brand of hockey to the community. The new ownership is deeply committed to having an exemplary hockey operation with close ties to local businesses. We seek players who have impeccable character, are eager to learn and grow together, embrace a team-first mentality, and understand the importance of community engagement.

In my opinion, Zac Rinaldo is an outstanding coach who loves the teaching aspect of the game. Zac believes very strongly in building a meaningful connection with his players. He values knowing players on a personal level first: from Day 1, Zac has relied on having an open-door policy to maximize the potential of each individual. Our organization is dedicated to creating a family-like atmosphere from the top down.

We also recognize the value of education, and, as a result, we emphasize the importance of academics and developing goals for their futures outside of hockey. Not only do we want tremendous hockey players to be associated with our organization, but we also want to empower them to be phenomenal productive citizens in society.

We are looking forward to bringing you an entertaining and competitive brand of hockey very soon. Not only are these athletes great at what they do, but they are ready and willing to make a meaningful contribution to our community. I’m really excited to see where this journey takes us. It is a privilege, going forward, to be your Team Ambassador.

🖤💚 Bring on the 2024/25 season. Welcome to Panthers Hockey 2.0! 🖤💚
